What is Placer Student Democrats?
Placer Student Democrats supports the agenda of the state and national Democratic Party and works to make political involvement more accessible to young people. We empower students to organize, advocate, and lead while representing Democratic values in our community through service and leadership.
Placer Student Democrats (PSD) was founded in August 2026 by Atticus Zweig and Derwinne Marie Chan. Inspired by West Park High School’s Democratic Student Union, PSD grew from a simple question: “What if students could be involved in politics?” PSD was created to turn that idea into action; breaking down barriers to youth participation and giving young people opportunities to engage in politics and learn the importance of civic engagement. Allowing the next generation to take the reins of their future.
